Brushless DC motors have many advantages and are widely used in various fields, such as high starting torque, fast response, and the ability to pass rated torque from zero speed to rated speed.
Because of this, the advantages of DC motors sometimes become a headache for some users in certain fields. To achieve constant torque performance under the load generated by DC motors, the armature magnetic field and rotor magnetic field must be maintained at a constant 90 ° angle, which requires the use of carbon brushes and rectifiers. Carbon brushes and rectifiers generate sparks and carbon powder when the motor rotates. Therefore, in addition to causing component damage, their usage is also limited. AC motors do not have carbon brushes and rectifiers, which are maintenance free, widely used, and sturdy. However, to achieve performance equivalent to DC motors in terms of characteristics, complex control technology is required.
With the rapid development of semiconductors today, the switching frequency of power components has increased significantly, improving the performance of drive motors. The speed of microprocessors has become increasingly fast, enabling the control of AC motors to be placed in a rotating two axis Cartesian coordinate system, and appropriately controlling the current division of AC motors in both axes, achieving similar performance to DC motor control and comparable to DC motors.
As a commonly used electromechanical integrated device, brushless DC deceleration motor is composed of an electric motor and a driver. The stator winding of the electric motor is mostly made into a three-phase symmetrical star connection for self controlled operation. Therefore, it will not add a starting winding on the rotor like synchronous motors that start under heavy load under variable frequency speed regulation, nor will it produce oscillation and step loss when the load suddenly changes. The control board of brushless motor can achieve some functions that cannot be achieved by brushed motor, such as adjusting the power switching angle, controlling the system motor to flip and lock the motor, using brake pedal data signals to terminate the power supply system to the motor. Nowadays, the electronic device alarm lock of electric bicycles makes reasonable use of these functions.
