The difference between AC motors and brushless motors.
When a brushed motor is in operation, the coil and commutator rotate, while the magnet and carbon brush do not rotate. The alternating change in the direction of coil current is achieved by the inverter and brush that rotate with the motor. In the electric vehicle industry, brushed motors are divided into high-speed brushed motors and low-speed brushed motors. There are many differences between brushed motors and brushless motors. From the name, it can be seen that brushed motors have carbon brushes, while brushless motors do not have carbon brushes.
Brushless DC motor consists of a motor body and a driver, and is a typical electromechanical integrated product. Due to the self controlled operation of brushless DC motors, they do not require additional starting windings on the rotor like synchronous motors that start under heavy loads under variable frequency speed regulation, nor do they produce oscillations and loss of step during sudden load changes.
Brushless motors are a new product with better lifespan performance than brushed motors. But its control circuit is relatively complex and requires strict aging screening of components. Although the motor has a long lifespan, the control circuit is prone to malfunctions. Therefore, the selection of brushless motors requires strict reliability testing to ensure quality.
