Principles and Techniques for Selecting Brushless DC Motors.
Brushless DC motors play an important role in various fields such as AI intelligence, automotive, medical equipment, and industrial automation, and are highly favored for their long lifespan, low noise, and high torque. However, due to the wide variety of specifications and types of brushless DC motors on the market, it is particularly important to choose brushless DC motors reasonably based on product performance requirements. Next, we will explore several key selection principles.

1. Specification selection
In the case of adjustable power supply voltage, we can select brushless DC motor specifications that match the torque, speed, and product rating according to actual needs, and then adjust the voltage to achieve the desired speed. If the power supply voltage remains fixed and there is a lack of suitable specifications for brushless DC motors to choose from, we can first select the motor specifications based on torque, and then adjust the voltage and speed of the product reasonably on this basis.
2. Reasonable selection of power
The output power of brushless DC motors is limited. If the selected power is too small, when the load exceeds its rated output power, the motor will face overload risk, which includes heating, vibration, reduced speed, and abnormal noise. In severe overload, the motor may even burn out. On the contrary, if the power selection is too large, it will cause unnecessary economic waste. Therefore, it is crucial to choose the power of the motor reasonably according to actual needs.
3. Type selection
When selecting, ferrite permanent magnet DC motors with high efficiency, affordable price, and low temperature rise should be preferred. It is only recommended to use aluminum nickel cobalt permanent magnet DC motors or rare earth permanent magnet DC motors in specific situations, such as when there are strict performance requirements, compact volume requirements, or high ambient temperatures.
