Some knowledge about brushless DC motors.
Many customers need to choose DC brushless motors for product development. Today, Jinyuan Electromechanical will introduce some basic knowledge to help you choose the right motor.
The main characteristics of brushless DC motors are as follows:
1. Due to the absence of spark and wear issues, the reliability of the working life is high;
2. Small moment of inertia, high torque inertia ratio, and fast response;
3. By generating an air gap magnetic field through permanent magnets, the efficiency and power factor are high, and the heating part is located on the stator, making it easy to dissipate heat;
4. Compared to brushed DC motors, the cost is slightly higher: compared to asynchronous motors, the control performance is excellent.
The 42mm~80mm models are as follows:
1. The working voltage and operating speed can be customized according to user needs.
2. The output shaft diameter, shaft length, and output method can be customized according to user needs.
3. The number of motor poles and the angle of the Hall sensor can be customized according to user needs.
4. Users can choose to have or not have Hall drive.
5. Optional: deceleration structure, brake, built-in driver.
6. The end cap can be made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel material.
7. Bearing type: oil bearing or rolling bearing.
8. The motor can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise.
How to choose a brushless DC motor reducer for use in conjunction with it?
The reduction ratio can be provided according to customer requirements. If a 16NM brushless motor passes through a gearbox with a transmission ratio of 4, and the efficiency is 90%, the output torque is 16 * 4 * 0.9=57.6NM. The torque is less than the required output torque of the gearbox. So it can be used in combination.
If a 20NM brushless motor passes through a gearbox with a transmission ratio of 4 and an efficiency of 90%, the output torque of 20 * 4 * 0.9=72NM. If the calculated output torque is greater than the rated torque of the gearbox, the motor cannot fully output. If the rated torque is exceeded for a long time, the reducer will be turned off!
How to choose the matching driver?
When selecting DC brushless motor products, the appropriate working voltage should be chosen, and the main parameters of the controller's working voltage should be selected based on the customer's necessary rated working voltage. It is important to note that the applied working voltage should not exceed the range required by the controller during full load and full load processes. We provide various specifications of DC brushless products such as 24V/36V/48V/220V: 42/57/60/80 series refers to the motor flange size!
The method of selecting peak current is to set the rated input current Ir (A) of the motor, and then set the peak current Ip (A)>=2 * Ir. Otherwise, there will be no engineering margin for the output current during the use of the driver. If the rated output power (or high output power) Pr (W) and driving voltage Vr (V) of the motor are known, then the peak current Ip (A) is greater than 2 * Pr/Vr.
