How to choose the model of brushless DC motor?


People who understand brushless DC motors should be aware that there are many parameters, but how should buyers choose from so many parameters? Today, let me give you a detailed introduction.


The parameters of a DC brushless motor include: DC power supply voltage, rated output power, rated load torque, rated working speed, and the rotation direction of the DC brushless motor, which can be clockwise, counterclockwise, or counterclockwise. The continuous working cycle of a DC brushless motor can operate for a certain period of time. The environment it is suitable for is indoor, outdoor, marine, high voltage, high temperature, humid, and corrosive gases. The flange structure can be square or circular, as well as the length of the body.

Generally, the appropriate power, voltage, speed, torque, and body size are selected based on the actual situation (load, structural dimensions, etc.), and then the brushless drive is matched according to the specific parameters of the selected DC brushless motor. You can choose according to the following five points.

1、 Firstly, the correct voltage should be selected, and the rated voltage should be chosen according to the customer's needs to select the voltage parameters of the brushless driver. It is important to note that the voltage used should not exceed the range specified by the brushless driver during no-load and full load processes.

2、 Select the peak current of the brushless drive. The method for selecting the peak current is to know the rated input current of the DC brushless motor, and the peak current should be greater than or equal to twice the rated current.

3、 According to the working environment (such as temperature, humidity, etc.), the minimum temperature for brushless DC motors should not be lower than -20 ℃, and the maximum temperature should reach 60 ℃. Waterproof treatment can also be applied.

4、 Another key requirement is the insulation of the power supply. To ensure the normal operation of the brushless drive, the insulation resistance between the Hall wire and ground wire of the DC brushless motor and the DC brushless motor winding wire, as well as between the Hall wire winding wire and the casing, should be greater than 100 megaohms and 500VDC. It should be able to withstand a voltage of 600VAC/50Hz/1mA/1 second without breakdown.

5、 The maximum outer diameter of the DC brushless motor, as well as the height of the DC brushless motor, the diameter of the output shaft, and whether a reducer is required for parameter selection.
After selecting the above five points, the selection of the DC brushless motor model is considered complete. If there are no suitable specifications, it can be customized according to actual needs.
